February 2020 update
We are in the middle of Phase 1A construction! We have already installed wind columns (to strengthen the facade wall), removed the old storefront awning, replaced the storefront glass windows and doors, installed a new ticket window and concession pass-thru window and repainted the lower half of the facade. We are now in the process of replacing the roof, running new plumbing, electrical and lighting, HVAC, and building out new bathrooms. Once this phase is completed (which is anticipated to be early May, 2020) we will have a functional facility that will still have its rustic-charm, but will be usable! So exciting!

This is the floor plan and exterior rendering for the renovated Elba Theatre. We were blessed to be able to work with one of the leading architecture firms in the country, Lord Aeck Sargant. We were paired with them by a website that matches non-profits and architects who donate a portion of their time and talents to worthy causes. After meeting with us on several occasions and holding a Visioning Workshop for interested community members, this is the design that was decided on. A $30,000 grant from the Alabama State Council on the Arts allowed us to contract them for the full set of blueprints, which you can view with the following link: https://1drv.ms/b/s!AgDHa8YgPZihv1Fv_KdVdshm200P
As you can see, this is a massive project that is currently in the fundraising stage. The full project will include official architectural drawings, a sustainability plan, extensive plumbing and electrical work, roof replacement, new HVAC, restrooms, flooring, wall treatments, lighting, stage renovation, concession stand, box office, marquee fabrication and installation, professional audio/video equipment and more. Work will be completed in phases as funds are acquired. We are raising funds by applying for grants from a variety of funding sources, selling components (seats, "stars", etc.) and individual donations. If you have any resources or skills that will help us reach our goal, please reach out to Laurie Chapman at 334-494-4629 or Justin Maddox at 334-494-2952.
